Liquid-cell TEM

The ability to image materials in a thin liquid cell (50 nm - 5 microns) under TEM is a highly advanced, cutting edge scientific tool that allows us to investigate:

1.     The structure of materials in solution with resolution lower than 2 nm (idealized). That way, dynamical process such as agglomeration or other interactions can be seen directly, in situ or even in vivo. This includes real-time imaging and local elemental analysis of nanostructures in liquids

2.     Electrochemical ability: We plan to integrate a low noise electrochemical setup with the liquid cell. In this way, electrocatalytic processes can be observed on surfaces with unprecedented high resolution, in solution.
